Wait 'til next year...

Some of you might know this but I'm in a fantasy football league with some friends for the past 6 years. It's a great competitive league and the one I really care about the most. Since making the Superbowl 3 years ago and subsequently losing it, my team 'the Waterboys' haven't had much luck since. The following 2 seasons my team was horrible, missing the playoff's the year after the Super Bowl and then being the 4th seed (w/ a losing record) the year after that. So this past season my team was doing extremely well. I was winning the close games (the games I would normally lose) and winning the Monday night games (also I normally lose). Since my team was doing so well, I even dared to think for a nano-fraction of a second, 'Maybe this is the year?'

Then the news I heard on the radio on my drive back from work...'Philadelphia Eagles WR Terrell Owens was suspended indefinitely for criticizing teammates and being detrimental to the team.'

Like the Philly Eagles season..my team went down the tubes. My best WR gone for the season because he couldn't keep his mouth shut. My QB's (Delhomme & Brooks) stunk-up the joint for the last month. My RB's (Dillon & SJackon) we're hurt and stopped knowing how to run the ball. You get the picture.

Then I fell from 1st in the West to losing 3 of the last 4 games and falling into 3rd seed in the West. And to boot, playing a team in the West who was peaking at the right time and who knocked me out of the running for a 3rd straight season.

Serves me right for prematurely thinking I had a chance this season. What was I thinking?!!? Oh well, there's always next year.
