I took a break from my week long Battlestar Galactica marathon to see what's cooking on the Wii marketplace. I was pleasantly surprised when one of the best football games ever to grace a console was available for download...Tecmo Bowl! After purchasing it; I fumbled my way through the settings and started a season. Since the New England Patriots wasn't available as a team (they stunk back then), I selected the then Los Angeles (now Oakland) Raiders. The reason being that Bo Jackson was the starting running back on that team.
There's a reason why ESPN.com a few years ago voted Bo Jackson as the greatest video game athlete EVER. Once you hand Bo the ball chances are you're breaking a long run or taking the ball to pay dirt. The guy was unstoppable in the game.
Tecmo Bowl brought back a ton of memories when I was a kid playing this game non-stop. It was the only football back then that had NFL players in the game. And a majority of the players are in the Hall of Fame. Ah memories.
