So tonight the Mrs. and I went to our first Celtics game of the year. We try to go to at least 1 game in my company's suite depending on when it's available. It's been a lost season for the Celtics who are playing for pride (and a draft pick). But there were a number of reasons that kept my interest in tonight's game.
Here goes:
1) Fantasy basketball playoffs start today and I have Paul Pierce & Al Jefferson on my team
2) Hoping the Celts lose to increase their odds in this summer's NBA Draft
3) Like I said before, we try to go to 1 game every year
And a unsuspecting fourth item popped onto our itinerary...
4) Witnessing Jorge Garbajosa snap his ankle in two while trying to block a shot
At first, I didn't even notice his ankle snapping like a twig but when the jumbotron played the 'highlight' over and over and over and over...It wasn't until the fifth multi-angled replay I noticed the injury and watched Al Jefferson look away in horror of the dangling appendage.
After a stoppage in play and the player was taken off the court play resumed. The Raptors made a mini comeback towards the end but the Celts won to spite me...sigh.
