Fi-yaaah!

Artie Lange?

That was the most popular response people had when I was asked who I was waiting in line for. In case you're wondering who he is; Artie is Howard Stern's comedic sidekick on the radio.

Artie was promoting his stand-up show at Symphony Hall all week on the radio. But then Artie mentions on Friday's show that he was signing autographs
at Newbury Comics on Newbury Street. So, since I didn't get tickets to his show; this was the next best thing to do.

The Mrs. and I actually went to the North Face store next door first to see if the Artie line was moving. Then after leaving the store and seeing that the crowd was moving rather briskly; we jumped into line. Thankfully, the weather in Boston cracked the 50's today so the brief wait outside on Newbury Street was bearable.

After a 35 minute wait I finally had a chance to meet Artie in the flesh. I walked up to him, greeted him and then gave him a DVD cover to sign (I bought that in-store). Then I asked him to take a quick photo with me. So wifey had my cellphone and snapped a couple of Zapruder Film-esque photos of us. I then shook his hand, thanked him and we we're on our way.

He seemed to be a nice guy and he reassured me it was 'ok' when wifey wanted to take a second pic of Artie and I. And he was giving away his autographs for free. I only purchased his DVD since I wanted something more than just a crappy freebie flier the store was giving away.

Good times.
