Words can't describe how I feel right now.
My hometown Celtics tanked this past season to increase their chances at 2 potential franchise players available. They had a 19.9% to get the top pick and their past season of futility comes to fruition tonight at the NBA Lottery.
So wifey and I flipped on ESPN to watch the drama unfold.
An NBA official opens an envelope revealing the team logo and where they will pick. The countdown starts at number 14 down to 1.
As each pick counted down Wifey and I grew more and more anxious to see where the Celtics land.
And then it happened.
"...the number 5 picks goes to the Boston Celtics."
My heart sank.
You see trying to learn nuclear physics is easer than trying to explain the NBA Lottery. I read that the worst the Celtics can do is slip to number 5 and my worst nightmare comes true.
On the bright side (if there is such a thing), the draft is fairly deep and they will still get a decent player.
But what's another 10 years of mediocrity?
Sigh.
